December has arrived, summer is trying to work itself out and hasn’t this year flown by!

I can’t help but get excited when I see the array of fresh and zesty stone fruit at the markets, all in bright abundance now. The bursting colours and wonderful aromas of seasonal stone fruit herald the coming of Christmas, summer, and all the sweet, luscious treats that go with it. My favourites, just to name a few: Australian cherries, juicy mangoes, lychees, nectarines and watermelon, in all their juicy joy!

 With golden lit houses and trees, advent calendars, and plans to see aunties and cousins that you haven’t seen since last December, this holiday season has snuck up on us once again. Late night rushes to buy more red paper, zero picnic space at the park, and no petrol stations open after driving all day to find a spot or a park at the beach.

But despite all the effort, time and thought that each of us put into presents, food preparation and making sure the bon-bons match the plates, Christmas is a wonderful time of year. It brings family and friends together to pause for a moment, and be grateful for the love that is crammed into our full stomachs or Santa stockings, and those loved-ones that we crown with paper hats. Our houses are filled with new socks and undies, overflowing fridges, and new memories for next year.

So for this holiday season, we can only recommend that you do all your prezzie shopping well before Christmas Eve. Prep food in advance where possible, fuel up to the max, and see the sunrise at your favourite picnic spot! Take lots of photos, enjoy every moment and don’t fear the New Year when 2018 arrives. Jump into your new resolutions with your new undies and have a blast!

Bookings for our larger marquees are flowing in now for January/February. We do have a couple of hire spots left for Xmas day and New Years day. Take this opportunity to think about creating a stunning bohemian statement in your backyard and make your celebration a wonderful experience to commemorate this festive season.
